Mandala in Sanskrit means circle. Mandala is a symbolic representation of the universe or the cosmos. It starts with a small dot and it keeps growing/expanding with different forms/patterns/designs. Mandala is a womb that contains all. Normally, the Mandala is characterised by repetitive patterns (symmetric in nature) in concentric circles, but it can also be characterised by free flow patterns, as there are no restrictions or limitations and also which shows one of the important laws of the universe which is change or evolution. In a spiritual context, the mandala represents the entire universe, practicing this artform is to reunify the self. (connecting to the higher self).
